Restoration of the necessary Land the Improvement of the Irrigation

Restoration of the necessary agricultural land has to be balanced with the improvement of the irrigation system that joined in broken resulting from the flood.

The main source of the land irrigation absolute was needed because without the irrigation that was arranged the rice crop will be of bad quality and even died.

Was like this it was said Waridin (60), Chairman Kelompok Tani Tirtorejo, Desa Wates, Kecamatan Undaan, Kabupaten Kudus, on Saturday (12/1).

This matter remembered the embankment of the irrigation channel that originated in the Kedungombo Reservoir will be broken in several points resulting from the overflowing of the Wulan River late December 2007.

Waridin suggested, with waited for the flood to subside in Wates Village rice cultivation, Regional Government could collect data on damage of irrigation channels.

If the channels already were not flooded, the government immediately could improve.

The "paddy-field of the farmers in the Undaan Subdistrict was the cistern paddy-field."

The paddy-field irrigation fully did not rely on rain, but needed water from the irrigation, said Waridin, that his paddy-field measuring five hectare broken was flooded.

The same request was brought forward by Masiran (55), the farmer the Sambung Village, Kecamatan Undaan.

The government was hoped for should not stress in the provisions of the seed and fertilizer, but also improved broken irrigation channels.

Masiran worried, after restoring the paddy-field and burying re-rice, stopped rain, while the irrigation was not yet improved.

The certain farmers’ confusion strove for water for their respective paddy-field.

The "condition" for the "weather could not be now guessed."

Now can be flooded, tomorrow even the drought, said he.

The irrigation channel from the Kedungombo Reservoir that was in the Medini Village, Kecamatan Undaan was broken in several points.

Two the longest former irrigation channels, that is around eight meter, could be seen from the Kudus-Purwodadi Highway.

The irrigation embankment was broken in two sides, so as to interrupt the water current from the main source.

The other dropout only on one hand and was not so big and long.

In the Selojari Village, Kecamatan Klambu, Kabupaten Grobogan, the Bakan Time embankment, the water cross-section from the Kletak Reservoir, also broken.

Moreover, four equipment for piping also broken as a result of remaining water

The "improvement of four implements needed the fund of Rp 4 million."

The fund was gotten from self-supporting the farmer's group, said Rasmin (55), the farmer Selojari.

According to him, equipment for piping this was needed to channel water from the Bakan Time.

This step was part of the implementation of President's instruction to priority the development of the infrastructure of agriculture.

The election of provinces be based on in the contribution size towards the production of the national rice.

"In fact all the provinces could the part, but that was biggest to the province that became the national rice barn," said Djoko.

According to him, the development and rehabilitation of the network of this irrigation was ascertained could not be finished in time one year like that was wanted by the Agriculture Minister.

The reason is, apart from the annual fund will not suffice; time that was needed for this program was long enough.

According to Djoko, the development and rehabilitation of the network of the irrigation as well as the control of the flood just would finish in 2009.

At this time the network of the irrigation that was available was as big as 6,7 million hectare, where around 1,5 million hectare broken and entered the rehabilitation program.

The paddy-field was threatened by the drought

Around 50 hectare (Ha) the paddy-field in the Mluweh Village, Kecamatan Ungaran Timur, Kabupaten Semarang was threatened with experiencing the drought, considering the condition retraining wall the Ngepreh Dam in the local village at this time collapsed.

This dam had a function of dividing the Ngepreh river water current to the land of the resident's rice cultivation.

By collapsing him retraining wall this dam, the river water current it was confirmed will not irrigate the rice cultivation land but immediately was thrown away towards the Babon River.

Totaling 10 hectare the paddy-field that was threatened with being not irrigated was the bent paddy-field, property of the resident.

According to the Village Head Mluweh, Sukarso, that was met exposed on Saturday (9/2), retraining wall this Ngepreh Dam was built around 1979 by using the fund from the government of the centre.

However since the 1990 's, this dam collapsed.

Since that time, explained he, when the season buried the local farmers claimed to be the difficulty of receiving water because of collapsing him this dam.

Especially in the dry season.

Sukarso said, the resident finally in a self-supporting manner had repaired this dam damage.

However this improvement his characteristics were not permanent, because of the limitations of the resident's fund.

Finally retraining wall this dam often collapsed, and water that flowed to the rice cultivation land was not optimal.

Not agreed last 2006 local villagers through the Combination of the Tani Group (Gapoktan) Sidodadi Makmur introduced the proposal of the Ngepreh Dam that collapsed of the development request.

However this proposal to the end of the budget year was not agreed to.

The same proposal then again was introduced in the following year.

However same then results.

Considering like that the importance of the role of the Ngepreh Dam in irrigating the rice cultivation land, the resident then intended to propose again this proposal this year.

"Previously was not agreed to on the basis of the fund that could be poured out maximal Rp 15 million."

In fact that was needed more than that.

However we said it's alright if only was given by Rp 15 million, later will be aroused by us in accordance with the fund that was given, but evidently also was not given, obviously him.

In the proposal this time the value of the development that was put forward reached Rp 250 million.

This fund was allocated constructive dam in the Sinanas River, Sungai Ngepreh, and the Banyuasin River.

Moreover, will be built also three.

Irrigation

is the artificial application of water to the soil usually for assisting in growing crops. In crop production it is mainly used to replace missing rainfall in periods of drought, but also to protect plants against frost.[1] Additionally irrigation helps to suppress weed growing in rice fields.[2] In contrast, agriculture that relies only on direct rainfall is sometimes referred to as dryland farming or as rain fed farming. It is often studied together with drainage, which is the natural or artificial removal of surface and sub-surface water from a given area.

Irrigation is also a term used in the Medical/Dental fields and refers to flushing and washing out anything with water or another liquid.
